Description:
T2-I13. Young male between the ages of 20-25, therefore a young adult. The age was estimated on the basis of the relationship between occlusal wear and age. The individual had a robust build with a marked linea aspera on the femurs. No degenerative features or pathological aspects were observed. Height could not be estimated because no long bones could be measured. However, the length of the skeleton was 164 cm (head-feet).
The individual was lying in an extended prone position with the face resting directly on the floor of the grave. There was some curvature of the torso to the right, perhaps in an attempt to accommodate it in the limited space of the pit. The upper limbs were totally attached to the body, but the absence of forearms did not allow us to know the real position of the arms and hands. The lower limbs were fully extended and parallel to each other.
The presence of joints and connections in a strict anatomical position indicated decomposition in a densely packed space. Strong compression was observed in the shoulder area, which caused the shoulders to shrink, leaving both shoulder blades very close to the midline. This phenomenon was also recorded on the elbows, which were completely attached to the bodies. All this, together with the position of the knees and ankles, also close together, seemed to indicate that this individual was firmly tied or bundled.
Individual I13 was positioned with the head facing SE, between individuals I8 and I19, who had their arm resting on I13’s hip. The head was beneath individuals I9 and I10, while the right leg was on individual I12.
