Description:
UE030. Fill of dark brown soil, of high compaction but less than stratigraphic unit UE007. It has a fine granulometric composition made up of clayey, sandy, and organic materials. It appears in the northern corner of operation OP1, continuing in the NW and NE profiles. The visible shape in plan is irregular with a very rounded corner. It has dimensions of 250 x 240 cm, and an average thickness of 5 cm. It is a deposit that is not very homogeneous, with traces of charcoal and roots, which follows the inclination of the level on which it sits (stratigraphic unit UE007). Quite a lot of ceramic material is present. It covers stratigraphic units UE039, UE038 and UE036. Due to its location (between the stratigraphic units UE 005 and 007, covering post holes and a small pit), and its composition, this might be the remains of a natural paleosol or a circumstantial filling of anthropic origin.
