Description:
UE300. Offering of artifacts placed over burial level UE301, in tomb T7. Composed mostly of ceramic vessels (UE 300). During the archaeological excavation no fill was identified which was completely interposed between burial level UE301 and that of the offering UE300, from which it can be deduced that the latter was placed over the upper layer bodies. It was located inside pit UE325, whose surface it almost completely covered, which is why its contour was adapted with notable precision to that of the pit itself. The density of artefacts was greater on the sides of the offering than in its central sector. The great majority of these objects were conserved in a primary position, in many cases fragmented by crushing, although there are also frequent pieces that have been conserved whole, without fragmentation. Offering UE300 was made up of, among other elements, a total of 159 pieces of ceramics, and included globular, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic vessels, bowls, jars, plates and carafes—these last two types almost always being associated with each other. The following have also been recovered: a pedestal, an incense burner, two zoomorphic whistles, several tripod bowls and carinated vessels. The unusually high proportion of miniature vessels present in the group, among which are included some anthropomorphic ones, is striking. This last fact could be related to the young age of some of the inhumed individuals. It is also worth noting the presence of a large jar (CE11944) located in the southwest quadrant of the complex, above the heads of the two main occupants (I4 and I7). Above UE301. Below UE283 and UE299. Fill to UE325.
