Description:
Hammered gold circular pectoral with the embossed image of a supernatural hybrid being of bird and reptile, bordered by eighteen concentric circles. The piece has four perforations at the height of the figure´s neck for suspension or fastening. Conte Style.

The different points of observation that the figure allows make its description very difficult. Viewed from above we have the representation of a mythical crocodile: a quadruped with a shortened trunk in crawling position, with its head turned towards the spectator in a torsion that is anatomically impossible but typical of the style. It has round eyes, a triangular auditory canal typical of crocodiles, a large mouth with irregular teeth from which a bifid tongue emerges, partially edged with curved elements. Seen from the front, it has a slight anthropomorphic aspect, erect and with a waist: splitting the figure along its central axis, we see how its face is formed by the union of two heads of crested birds looking in opposite directions. A not so frequent square feature could be fulfilling the role of mouth or nose. The being represented in this pectoral, hybrid of bird and reptile, is the same as one of those of the main individual (ID 523, registration number 9268), and that of another of those of individual I20 (ID 970, registration number 9140) of tomb T2.
