Description:
Round breastplate of embossed gold with the design of a supernatural zoomorphic hybrid being (bird and reptile) Metallurgical group Conte. The main figure is formed by the union of two mythical two-headed crocodile serpent shaped profiles, which face in opposite directions and have a large mouth, sharp triangular teeth, upward curved noses, round eyes, marked orbital ridges and two crests. The profiles of the heads on the upper part of the breastplate are joined by their jaws forming a fifth in frontal vision, in addition, the artist takes advantage of the last of the sharp teeth of the upper jaws, the curved noses with their nostrils, and the crests, to represent respectively the profile of the beaks, heads and wings, of two birds in flight. It has two suspension holes at each eye level. Diameter: 18 cm. Weight: 106.8 gr MG. This breastplate is deformed. It appeared on the body of individual I7 in tomb T2 along with three other breastplates forming part of his mortuary ensemble.
