El Caño site (Coclé Province, Panama) is located at 50 m asl in an aluvial plain which is flooded periodically by the Río Grande that flows into the Parita Bay. The site is in an area of tropical climate of savannah (Awi). Description :   EL CAÑO: LOS RITUALES FUNERARIOS DE LOS JEFES GUERREROS Overview: This poster presents the result of an investigation aimed at identifying the ritual episodes of the funeral ritual of the warrior chief buried in the T2 tomb of El Caño. The method used consisted of reading the stratigraphic sequence of the deposits found inside the grave of his tomb and ascribing each of them to a phase of the rite of passage. The result of the study indicates that it consisted of eight ritual episodes and that it lasted three years.
